4 Free iPhone Apps for Music Streaming

The iPhone has always been great at listening to music, but, if you’re like me, you eventually get tired of listening to your collection and want to try something new. Here at Mobclix, we put together a list of the best apps to stream music onto your iPhone. These apps will learn your musical taste, deliver music based on your music or just let you listen to the good old fashioned radio. Best of all, they’re all completely free. 
MoodAgent
Moodagent smartly realizes that what music we want to listen to varies based on our mood. This app categorizes your songs according to five values – sensual, tender, joy, aggressive, and tempo. Once it’s done, you just move around the sliders to get the songs just right for your mood. You can also start a playlist with a “seed track” and it’ll choose songs similar to that. I won’t say it works perfectly, but the concept is great and I only expect it to get better.
Pandora
This app list could not possibly be complete without Pandora. There’s a reason Pandora has grown exponentially and is (almost) everyone’s favorite way to stream music. Available online and as an iPhone app, Pandora builds customized radio stations and through the Music Genome Project, matches it to your taste. Just let Pandora know which songs you like and which you can’t stand, and it’ll build out your perfect station (or close enough, anyway).
Last.fm
Similar to Pandora, Last.fm attempt to build personalized radio stations for you based on which songs you like. Personally, I like Pandora better, but Last.fm is a strong contender. I’ve heard that Last.fm is more likely to play indie music, so it may be worthwhile to try both.
AOL Radio
AOL Radio is great when you want to listen to real radio stations. It doesn’t try to get to know your musical taste, but does have over 350 stations from over 25 genres. It also lets you select the quality of music you’d like to get, depending on your connection. Definitely a winning app if you like listening to the radio.
